What a difference 2 weeks makes! Our first UKDA National League home fixture saw Gloucestershire pull out all the stops to secure a 22-14 win over Breconshire. The Ladies B got the weekend off to a good start with a 3-3 draw, Tracey Dix taking the match award averaging 16.38 in her 3-1 victory. Cath Brennan and Jane Price were the other winners in that match. Much better performance from the Mens B team who picked up 8 points out of the 12 on offer. 2 out of 2 man of the match performances from the consistent Robbie Long who won 3-0 averaging 24.24.
Going into the Sunday matches with an 11-7 lead, the Ladies did not disappoint securing a 3-3 draw against a strong Breconshire side. First on stage, Kirsty Dixon won 3-0 averaging 17.08 which proved to be the best and gained her the match award. The Mens A match was a bit nip and tuck and the score was 3-3 at the halfway point but they stepped up to the mark winning the last 5 sets to secure an 8-4 win. Kieran Smith played superbly to secure a 4-3 result and took the man of the match award with his 30.24 average. This was the highest in Division 3 over the weekend.
Next match is away to the Isle of Wight on the weekend of 6th/7th November. Always a popular fixture, the squad are sure to have good support and will hopefully secure another good result.
